Reflections on CLIL course at Bognor Regis

The CLIL activities designed for this final project are addressed to third graders (8/9 years old). The topic chosen to develop them is Plants, integrated within the Area of Natural Sciences.
The digital platform that we have used is a blog, where we have uploaded material related to that topic. There is a Powerpoint created by us explaining 2 CLIL lesson plans with several activities.

OBJECTIVES:

-        -  To create activities adapted to our students’ needs using Lower Thinking Skills (LOTS)        and Higher Thinking Skills (HOTS).
-        -  To use CLIL activities to develop a Science lesson using the 3 As: apply, add and                analyse.
-        -   To include the 4 Cs in both lessons: culture, cognition, content and communication.
-        -  To motivate and engage our students designing attractive CLIL activities.
-        -  To get familiarised with the CLIL methodology to apply inside our classrooms.
-        -   To use Bloom’s taxonomy and Cummins matrix when creating a CLIL activity.
-        -  To be able to assess activities according to the CLIL methodology.
-        -  To develop professionally incorporating new methodologies in our daily teaching.
-        -  To become confident implementing CLIL and innovative ICT tools at our schools.
